The Chicago Blackhawks played back to back games to start this season. After defeating the Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday night, the team traveled to Boston to face off against the Boston Bruins. The Bruins defeated the Blackhawks 3-1, but they unfortunately wasn't the biggest loss suffered by the Hawks.

In the second period, as the Blackhawks looked to clear their zone Taylor Hall was the recipient of a blindside hit from Brandon Carlo. The hit sent Hall to the ice and he eventually left the game and did not return.

After the game Hawks coach Luke Richardson had the following to say.

That's a blindside hit. That's a guy coming across the ice, for sure. That's what the game is trying to get rid of. I know exactly what it is because I used to do it all the time. But now it's not in the game.

While it was initially expected that Taylor Hall was just shaking up and likely wouldn't miss time after the game, Richardson also confirmed that not to be true.

With Hall out long-term things will get even tougher for Connor Bedard as he'll be forced to carry more of the load offensively.
