The Colorado Avalanche are visiting the Philadelphia Flyers tonight and nearing the end of the first period, one of their star players went down with a very peculiar injury.
According to altitude sports, Star centre Nathan MacKinnon went down with an upper body injury on a shot that he took from just inside the Flyers blueline, but no one knows how he injured his shoulder, listen to the commentators.
MaKinnon is being evaluated and an update is expected to come later according to Katie Gaus of Altitude Sports.
This one is strange to be sure. Especially considering he favoured his shoulder on a shot and there's really nothing to suggest it's been a nagging injury. The only thing that's being speculated at the shots from Flyers forward Scott Laughton, but even that seems a little to far out there.
In any case, huge loss for the Avs and I hope it's nothing too serious.
