Colorado Avalanche to be without star player for awhile due to injury
Training camps are opening across the league this week. It's an opportunity for teams to run their players through physicals and get updates on any nagging injuries.
Colorado head coach Jared Bednar said captain Gabriel Landeskog
«won't skate anytime soon."
He's dealing with an injury from last year and will miss the start of the year.
Playing through injuries last season, Landeskog scored 59 points (30 goals, 29 assists) in 51 games, while averaging 20:19 in ice time.
Landeskog had knee surgery in March, but was able to recover in time for Game 1 of the Avalanche's run to the Stanley Cup. He was outstanding in the playoffs, scoring 11 goals and 22 points in 20 games.
No time table was given for the recovery but it does sound like Landeskog will be out for an extended period of time.
