The Edmonton Oilers goalie struggles always seemed to persist year over year. With the recent Free Agency signing of Jack Campbell, the Oilers are clearly trying to find a fit in nets to get back to the Stanley Cup Finals. Clearly they're desperate to do so as Connor McDavid is starting to get irritated with being bounced out early in the playoffs.
When Connor McDavid was asked recently about his new goalie Jack Campbell, he had nothing but good things to say about his new teammate.
If he can be the starting goalie for the Leafs, he can be the starting goalie anywhere.
Obviously, this is the hockey hotbed and there's a tremendous amount of pressure on whoever fills that net. He's occupied that job for the better part of two years and he's done a great job doing it, so I'm sure he'll transition smoothly.
The Oilers are clearly looking to bounce back after the Conference Finals sweep lose to the Colorado Avalanche. They Oilers didn't lose too many pieces this summer so we can be sure they will be looking to get to the Cup Finals this season.
The only question will be, which Jack Campbell will the Oilers get? The one who put up a .940 save percentage in November or the one who was sub .900 for the remainder of the season? The Oilers better hope for the former.
