Another piece of the puzzle to making the Arizona Coyotes a more competitive team fell apart when NHL Insider Craig Morgan reported yesterday that another prospect is requesting a trade from the team.
22 year old forward Jan Jenik is looking to move away from the Coyotes organization, despite being an unproven restricted free agent. After declining his qualifying offer of just under $800K, Jenik's agent Allan Walsh indicated that Jenik has offers to play in Europe, but is seeking a trade to another team to continue his career in North America.
Jenik scored 4 goals and 5 points in 17 career games played over several seasons, and was drafted by the team in third round of the 2018 draft. Now spending the majority of his time in the AHL, Jenik is looking for a fresh start with another team.
It's once again a poor look for the Coyotes. On such a desolate team for the last few seasons, there would have been ample opportunity to give Jenik a chance for NHL ice time. However, it seems the Coyotes mismanaged the situation, and will find themselves down another prospect who sees no future for themselves in Arizona.
