Darryl Sutter won the Jack Adams Award for the 2021-2022 season as the top coach in the NHL. Under his leadership, he took the Calgary Flames to the 2nd round of the Stanley Cup playoffs.

The identity he forged for the Flames was a competitive and highly offensive team, however, it can be argued after the off-season things had changed.

We've got to take the point. We didn't skate yesterday because the Harlem Globetrotters were playing in our building and we had to travel and then couldn't skate this morning because it was a 6 o'clock game ...

Sutter doesn't sound like the coach of last season, as he blames his youngsters and the lack of availability of the ice for the loss here.

While Sutter fails to take ownership of the loss, he again blames the young guys, to which I say, which young guys are on the roster? As he called up Matthew Philips only to be sent down, stapled Adam Ruzicka to the 4th line for being productive and giving Milan Lucic a top 6 assignment, all this season. I feel like the farm is calling you, Sutter.
