The NHL salary cap has been a very hot topic as of late. Especially with the Las Vegas Golden Knights putting William Carrier, Nolan Patrick and Laurent Brossoit on long term injured reserve to suddenly make enough cap space to activate Captain Mark Stone.

It's been debated should these kind of moves be allowed, especially after the Tampa Bay Lightning's controversial moves that gave them a $18,000,000 advantage over everyone else during last year's Stanley Cup Playoffs. Thus included keeping Nikita Kucherov's massive salary off the cap for the entire season due to "injury". Fans and hockey analysts are comparing the teams moves very similar.

Calgary Flames Head Coach, Darryl Sutter, took notice and took a shot at the Golden Knights saying:

When they have the full squad, they're the favorites to win the the Stanley cup. Other then the team that team that has the Stanley cup. They're the favorites they have a $100 million dollar payroll, so they have to figure out how to keep 20 million out.

The outcry will likely increase if the Knights are suddenly 100% healthy to begin the playoffs, should they make it that far.
