Defenseman drops the gloves with a goalie and learns just how tough goalies are
It's not often that you see a goaltender drop the gloves, but that's exactly what happened Friday night in the SPHL. In a game between the Knoxville Ice Bears and Huntsville Havoc, things got heated in the final 5 minutes.
As a scrum breaks out behind the Knoxville net, goaltender Kristian Stead comes out of his net to cut off Chris Jones from getting involved. Jones decided that he wanted to drop the gloves and Stead quickly obliged.
The two exchanged some solid shots with Stead landing some very well placed right hands. The two eventually wrestled to the ice and saw their nights end early, as both men were given 5-minute majors.
