Detroit Red Wings prospect suffers serious injury
Earlier this week Detroit Red Wings prospect Dmitri Buchelnikov made waves when he stated he has no interest in leaving the KHL. The 2nd round pick of the Wings is a highly regarded young talent, that Steve Yzerman was hoping to move to North America.
Today in KHL action though Buchelnikov got an early taste of professional hockey. As Buchelnikov came across the center of the ice he is hit by Roman Chemerikin and he is sent hard to the ice in obvious distress.
THIS IS NOT GOOD AT ALL 😨
#LGRW prospect Dmitri Buchelnikov had to be helped off the ice after this hit to the head. He exits to the room. *Edited for time.
Roman Chemerikin got 2 minutes for an illegal check to the head. #VHL
Some reports state the prospect was crying while on the bench after the hit. Hopefully the Red Wings prospect is alright after this scary collision.
