Dylan Larkin ejected after busting open TJ Oshie with cross check to the face
Most of the news surrounding Dylan Larkin has been about his possible extension with the Detroit Red Wings. Tonight though the focus has shifted after Larkin found himself ejected from this evening's game against the Washington Capitals.
The ejection occured midway through the first period. As Larkin approaches Oshie he brings his stick up and cross checks Oshie right in the chin. The referees on the ice quickly discussed the situation and issued Larkin a major penalty and game misconduct.
The referees opted to review the play and even after review felt this was deserving of a game misconduct. There was clear intent on Larkin's part, but it's hard to justify a misconduct for this play.
