Evander Kane reveals disturbing details about his wrist injury
When Pat Maroon's skate made contact with Evander Kane's wrist it was clear right away that the injury was bad. The blood on the ice and the panic on Kane's face told everyone this wasn't a normal situation. Kane rushed to the Oilers bench and was met by trainers, doctors and paramedics.
Kane was rushed to the hospital for surgery, which was completed successfully. The Oilers announced that it is expected Kane will be out of the lineup for at least 3 months. Kane has since returned to the team and yesterday spoke to the media for the first time since the injury.
Blood just shot up. I've never seen that much blood before. I didn't want to bleed out. I pretty much cut everything down to the bone.
Kane is expected to make a complete recovery, but it could take some time before he's 100%. Ilya Mikheyev suffered a similar injury, which took over a year for fully rehab.
I was unlucky & then lucky. Thankful that I should have a full recovery.
