Fans react to Gritty's questionable new tattoo

Over the summer many hockey players take the opportunity to freshen up or add to their collection of tattoos. Getting work done over the summer often allows for the best chance for that artwork to heal. This summer however it wasn't just players getting inked.

Philadelphia Flyers beloved mascot Gritty took to Twitter yesterday to share that he too had got some work done. Unfortunately according to Gritty he has had a 'No Ragrets' situation of his own.

it says GIRTHY

While most reacted to the good nature fun many felt that this could be a cause of concern for some younger fans. While others just had some real fun with the situation.

I'm sorry to keep tweeting about it but I'm kinda fascinated now. Someone on the flyers socials team was like we should give gritty a tattoo but instead of it saying gritty it should be misspelled as girthy. and comcast said yes. they probably had email chains about this

I'm imagining a board meeting of sorts with a big presentation saying "what should gritty do today" and they go around the table like "eat a cheesesteak :-)" "hoola hoop at love park" "get a big ass stomach tat that says GIRTHY" "drive down the shore"

It will be interesting to see if Girthy debuts this new tat for the season opener in October.
