Fight breaks out in the crowd during Jets versus Avs game, fans arrested, blood reportedly 'everywhere'
Tonight's game between the Colorado Avalanche and Winnipeg Jets was delayed after a fight broke out in the stands. Unfortunately the fight left one fan bleeding badly and two others in handcuffs.
According to those in attendance players from the Jets brought towels to the victim after he was assaulted by two Avalanche fans. Scott Billeck provided the following information.
Appears a fight broke out in the lower bowl. There is blood all over the boards. A guy laid there for quite some time, looks like he got clocked by a fan in an Avs jersey. Two fans cuffed and escorted out. Fans got the Jets to bring towels over to help the injured guy.
Hearing a proper fight occurred between the fans. Guy got decked and fell backward down the stairs, hitting his head on the boards. Would explain the blood, which has yet to be cleaned up.
There are other reports that the fight was actually between fans and a security guard when the eventual victim intervened to assist security.
No. The 2 avs fans were being escorted due to their drunkenness. Guy head buts the security guard and girlfriend jumps on top of them. The fan tried to help the security guard who was overpowered and the drunk guy pushed him down the stairs head first into boards.
The two fans were eventually arrested and removed from the arena where they will likely face multiple charges.
