The Calagry Flames revealed some bad news on the health of forward Jakob Pelletier. The 22 year old left Monday's game against the Seattle Kraken with an upper-body injury after being hit by Marian Studenic.

Pelletier injured his left shoulder on the play that will require surgery next week putting him out indefinitley.

Pelletier received the puck on a zone-entry and was pushed from behind into the boards by Studenic shortly thereafter. Pelletier appeared to be favouring his chest and shoulder area after the hit as he exited the ice with a trainer.

Studenic was assessed a five-minute major penalty for boarding and was ejected from the game.

The 26th pick from 2019 scored 3 goals and 7 points in 24 games while averaging 14:11 in ice time last season.

Tough break for the youngster who was poised to breakout after seeing his former bench boss who he had a frosty relationship depart.
