Former 7th overall pick placed on waivers ahead of NHL season opener
Teams are continuing to cut down their NHL rosters. As teams head into the weekend for their final preseason game it appears more and more teams are closing in on their opening day rosters. With a 2 pm deadline today, we now know that every player placed on waivers yesterday has cleared.
Today's list of players placed on waivers has been released and the list is highlighted by a former 7th overall pick.
Andersson was drafted 7th overall by the New York Rangers in 2017, but never found a spot in the Rangers lineup before eventually being traded to the LA Kings. The 23-year-old Andersson has played in 109 NHL games and has scored 17 points in those games.
