Former Mighty Ducks cast member sentenced to jail
The Mighty Ducks Trilogy were my favourite movies growing up. When I wasn't watching or playing hockey I was watching the Disney film. Over the last couple months we've heard the remarkable recovery story of Shaun Weiss, who played Goldberg. But today's story isn't of the positive nature as another member of the cast is now in hot water with the law.
Jussie Smollett played Terry Hall, who along with brother Jesse Hall, were both members of the original Ducks' team. But over the past couple years Jessie has been in the media for all the wrong reasons.
Yesterday a judge sentenced Smollett to a sentence of 150 days in jail for "staging a hate crime" with himself as the victim in an attempt to try and grab National attention to benefit his career.
Smollett's full sentence is:
30 months of felony probation, with 150 days served in Cook County Jail, and he was ordered to pay $120,106 in restitution to the city of Chicago and a $25,000 fine.
Smollett continues to deny these claims, but one thing is for sure...Coach Bombay would definitely be disappointed in this behavior.
