Former OHLer, first captain of Mississauga IceDogs passes away at 44
We have some sad news to share from the hockey world on Saturday afternoon.
Former OHLer and the first-ever captain of the Mississauga IceDogs Scott Page has passed away at the age of 44.
Don Cherry, who owned the Ice Dogs during their time in Mississauga before relocating to St. Catherine's/Niagara, made a post on X after learning of the news of Page's passing.
"Was so sad to hear the passing of Scott Page, the first captain of the Mississauga IceDogs. He was a tough as they come and a great leader. Godspeed Scott." Cherry said.
Page spent four seasons in the OHL with the Sudbury Wolves, Soo Greyhounds and Mississauga IceDogs, along with a couple of minor professional appearances mixed in between, before moving on to playing at St. Thomas University for four years.
He wrapped up his playing career during the 2004-05 season with the Adirondack Frostbite of the now-defunct United Hockey League.
