Former player shares how he nearly fought John Tortorella
When the 2013-2014 season was beginning forward Ryan Kesler had some big hopes for the season. He was healthy for the first time in a couple years, and had a new coach who he believes fits his style in John Tortorella.
Kesler had a pretty good season suiting up for 77 games, scoring 25 goals and 43 points. Unfortunately for the Canucks it wasn't enough to push them into a playoff spot.
The 38 year old, was on the Spittin Chiclets podcast and detailed his almost fight with Torts.
The team is going over video after a 5-0 loss. All the clips are about Kesler's mistakes in the game. Tortorella stops the video and says
As the team gets one the ice, Kesler is skating around and Tortorella comes over and shoves him. I'm going to fight a coach Kesler thought to himself as he gets another shove from Torts.

Kesler was right on his prediction. He was traded to Anaheim the following summer and Tortorella wasn't brought back.
You will always get a mixed back of opinions when it comes to Tortorella, as a hockey fan you can't deny that he has the Philadelphia Flyers playing well out of the gate this season.
