Goalie turns his back on the play and gets scored on by the other team's GOALIE
If you've grown up playing hockey you know one of the first lessons, you're taught is that you don't quit from the time the puck drops until the whistle. This lesson may have been forgotten recently by a goalie in the DEL2 league.
In the video posted, a dump-in by the white team doesn't go to plan as the opposing goalie in blue takes the puck from behind the net and fires it the length of the ice.
In the clip, the white goalie turned his back presumably believing there was about to be an icing call. He is seen casually putting his stick under his arm, and grabbing the water bottle on top of his net.
Meanwhile, the puck is shot by the opposing goalie and trickles into the net. This should be a lesson for all hockey players you always play till the whistle, or bad things could happen. You can bet this goalie will likely never let his guard down again.
According to Scouting the Refs this happened during the play, but many indicators make it seem like the play is as over. Either way this is a very well placed shot by this goalie.
