The Nashville Predators are trying to keep Juuse Saros close to their chest and that's likely because the prognosis isn't positive. According to Hockey Insider Frank Servalli the update on Nashville Predators starting goalie Jussi Sarros is less than encouraging. The 27 year old, native of Finland left Tuesday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Calgary Flames with a lower-body injury. They admit its hard to get any concrete specifics but their is becoming a real doubt that Saros will be available for Round 1.

This is a major blow for the Predators. Saros has been outstanding this season. He is tied for 2nd in the NHL for wins with 38. He has a Save % of .918 and a GAA of 2.64. Veteran goalie David Rittich will be handed the starting role in Saros' absence. He has been less than stellar in his first season with the Predators with GAA of 3.56 and Save % of .833. Rittich has a record of 5-3-4. The Predators have called up Connor Ingram from the AHL Milwaukee Admirals.

Depending how things play out with the remaining games on the schedule the Predators will be facing either the Colorado Avalanche or the Calgary Flames in the first round. It was a tough task if Saros was playing but now that he could potentially miss all of the first round the task becomes almost impossible.
