Insider provides major timeline update on when Patrick Kane will sign his next contract
Unrestricted free agent forward Patrick Kane is continuing to work his way back from offseason hip resurfacing surgery and is gearing up for a return to the ice in the National Hockey League.
During the Saturday Headlines segment on Hockey Night in Canada, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman shared that this week is going to be a big one for Patrick Kane and that he's expected to narrow down the list of teams he's willing to sign with.
"I think it's possible he's going to start narrowing down some of the teams that he's interested in and are interested in him," Friedman said. "I still think he's a few weeks away from playing, but I think we're getting at least a few days closer to him narrowing down the list."
Kane, 34, appeared in 73 games last season between the Chicago Blackhawks and New York Rangers, who acquired him ahead of the trade deadline in early-March. In those 73 games, Kane managed to put up 57 points (21 goals, 36 assists).
In recent weeks, Kane has been linked to a number of teams including his hometown Buffalo Sabres, the Central Division leading Dallas Stars and even the Detroit Red Wings, where if he signed, he would join up with a former teammate in Alex DeBrincat.
Of the three teams listed above, which team do you think would be the best fit for Patrick Kane? Let us know what you think in the poll below!
