The Calgary Flames versus the Dallas Stars has been a physical series to say the least. But Saturday night in Game 3, Jamie Benn pulled out one of the more dangerous plays, that a player can use in hockey.
In the second period Jamie Benn was tied up with Chris Tanev going into the corner to retrieve the puck. That' when Benn stuck out his leg, and slew-footed Tanev dangerously close to the boards.
There was a referee right beside them and he did not think that was worth a penalty. Luckily, Tanev was not hurt on the play but that could have been a lot worse. It will be interesting if the Department of Player Safety takes a look at this play.
