Johnny Gaudreau reveals where he nearly signed before choosing the Blue Jackets
When Johnny Gaudreau informed the Calgary Flames that he intended to move closer to home, many expected him to sign with either the New Jersey Devils or New York Islanders. Both teams represented the closest locations to home for Gaudreau. Ultimately Gaudreau didn't choose to go home.
Gaudreau decided after a conversation with Jarmo Kekalainen, Gaudreau decided he wanted to be a member of the Blue Jackets.
Gaudreau joined the boys from the Spittin' Chiclets Podcast and shared just how close he came to signing with the Devils.
According to Gaudreau the deal with the Blue Jackets came together within an hour after he'd spoken with the Devils for almost the entire day. It's interesting to hear Gaudreau describe how quickly he knew he wanted to join the Blue Jackets.
