An OHL player has found himself on the sidelines indefinitely following a suspension for an obscene gesture.

The Kingston Frontenacs took on one of the Ontario Hockey League's worst teams on Friday night, the Niagara IceDogs, in what turned out to be a blowout.

Kingston walked away with a 10-0 win thanks to a pair of four-assist games from Christopher Thibodeau and Vann Williamson, but the contest will be remember most for an incident that took place in the third period.

Late in the third period, Niagara IceDogs forward Alex Assadourian recieved a two-minute minor for cross-checking that put Kingston on a lengthy 5-on-3 powerplay. As Assadourian gets to the penalty box, he looks at Frontenacs forward Luke McNamara and makes a throat slashing gesture and can be seen mouthing the words "you're f**cking dead".

As a result of his actions, the Ontario Hockey League decided to suspend Alex Assadourian indefinitely and it's unclear when he'll be allowed to return to action for the IceDogs.

"The only penalty he got was a 2 minute minor for cross checking in the 3rd. But then in the box he says "you're fucking dead" with a throat slash to McNamara. So I guess that's what the indefinite suspension is for #OHL" @GeneralsUpdates said in a post on X.

The IceDogs currently sit dead-last in both the Eastern Conference and the entire OHL with a record of 12-27-5-1 through 45 games and are seven points back of the Peterborough Petes and Barrie Colts, who are both tied for the final playoff spot in the conference.
