Karlsson, Spezza take a shot at the Ottawa Senators when reuniting in Pittsburgh
As the Erik Karlsson era begins in Pittsburgh, the 33-year-old defenceman who spent the previous five seasons with the San Jose Sharks has apparently been very candid with his new boss and former teammate Jason Spezza, the new Assistant General Manager with the Penguins.
The Pair who were teammates with the Ottawa Senators in the early 2010's joined the team this offseason as the club cleaned out their management office and retooled their on-ice personnel after missing the playoffs for the first time since 2006.
While many people are skeptical as to whether or not Karlsson be a piece that helps get the Penguins back to playoffs, the candor between the two is interesting to see, as both appear to be excited for their new opportunities in southwest Pennsylvania.
Karlsson and Spezza had their fair share of disappointment playing with the Senators as they lost in 2009-10 & 2012-2013 while both suited up in the nations capital.
At least, if things don't pan out in Pittsburgh, this time they both have no one to blame but themselves
