hockey as a sport is expanding at almost every level, especially at the lower professional level and it looks like a new team will be coming to the ECHL next season, funded partly by someone you wouldn't be expecting.
According to Greg Wyshynski of ESPN, the ECHL will be welcoming their 29th team to the league in 2024-25, the new team will be located in Lake Tahoe and former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow will be part of the ownership group; take a look.
Tim Tebow is helping to bring the ECHL to Lake Tahoe.
This is not a Mad-Libs.
This comes after Lake Tahoe hosted some outdoor National Hockey League games last season and the attendance was amazing.
It's nice to see that certain leagues are expanding into new hockey markets that will bring more fans to the game itself. After the NHL outdoor games, I can't see an ECHL team failing in Lake Tahoe, this is a very smart move.
