Leafs Defenceman Not Available For The Season Career Likely Over
The Toronto Maple Leafs are holding their annual media day today ahead of the opening of training camp. General Manager Brad Treliving revealed some expected news to the public on the injury status of defeceman Jake Muzzin.
Treliving said Muzzin will remain unavailable to the team this season due to a cervical spine injury.
The 34 year old hasn't played since October 17th 2022. Muzzin is entering the final year of his four-year, $22.5 million contract. Toronto will be placing Muzzin's $5.625M salary on LTIR.
If this is the end of Muzzin's career he finishes playing 683 games while scoring 69 goals and 294 points. He won a Stanley Cup with the LA Kings in 2014.
