Little brother of Boston Bruins center Morgan Geekie ejected from World Juniors game
It's New Year's Eve, the World Juniors are on, and the internet is currently buzzing with divided opinions about the Canada/Germany game.
Just a mere 11 seconds into the game, Team Canada forward Conor Geekie was given a 5-minute major and a game misconduct for an alleged illegal check against Team Germany player Samuel Schindler.
After the calls, a clearly frustrated Geekie throws his hands in the air and can be seen yelling some not-so-nice words at the refs; take a look.
This ultimately lead to his ejection from the game, and of course people on X are fired up about it, including Conor's older brother (and Boston Bruins center) Morgan.
Regardless of people's opinions on whether it was a clean hit or not, this is just another example of just how different the apparent rules are between the NHL and the IIHF.
Team Canada ultimately won the game, beating Germany 6-3.
