Maple Leafs defenseman reportedly a target of potential offer sheet from rival team
Rasmus Sandin has already made it clear to the Toronto Maple Leafs that he has no interest in taking a contract similar to Timothy Liljegren. According to sources Sandin views his value much closer to a player like Adam Boqvist. Boqvist just signed a 3-year deal with a cap hit of $2,600,000 per season.
The Boqvist deal is obviously something the Maple Leafs can't afford to match given their current salary structure. But now it appears that Sandin could be drawing some attention from a rival club via an offer sheet.
According to Stefen Rosner, that offer sheet could come from former Maple Leafs General Manager, Lou Lamoreillo.
Given the salary cap structure any deal under $4,000,000 would be almost impossible for Toronto to match and would only cost a team a 2nd round pick.
In 51 games last season Sandin scored 5 goals and added 11 assists. This situation is definitely one to watch for the Maple Leafs.
