Marc-Andre Fleury admits he's ''mad'' at himself
The Minnesota Wild hosted the last placed Arizona Coyotes last night in a game that would have allowed them to lockup home ice advantage for their 1st round playoff match up with the St. Louis Blues. Unfortunately for the Wild they didn't come ready to play and were defeated by the Coyotes 5-3. The loss meant that the Wild will need to somehow gain points against either the Calgary Flames or Colorado Avalanche to secure home ice in the 1st round.
After the loss Marc-Andre Fleury was asked about how he felt about his performance and Fleury didn't hold back when asked about his own play.
It was a good team for us to get two points against. Personally, I just have to be better. I've been giving up a lot of goals lately and its making me mad. But just gotta keep working and practicing hard and go win the next one.
Just overall, I feel like there's always a goal I can have and make it different for the team instead of going to OT or getting behind in there. There were some good saves in there, but I can't give up that much and expect our team to win every night. So yeah, just gotta clean that up.
It could be, I think sometimes when the other side doesn't have anything to lose, they take chances and stuff.
Fleury hasn't been sharp recently giving up 22 goals in his last 7 starts. It's clear that he can be better, but without question it's likely Cam Talbot will be the starting goalie for the Minnesota Wild when they start the playoffs next week.
