Mike Babcock already accused of invading players privacy in Columbus
It came as a shock to many when the Columbus Blue Jackets made the announcement that they were hiring, Mike Babcock to be the next head coach of the franchise. The young team is filled with promising and talent and given Babcock's checkered past, there were those who felt this choice might not be a good fit.
Since being hired, Babcock has shared his intent to ensure the mental health of his players and his hopes to make amends for his previous behavior. While that sounds good in nature, making those changes is easier said than done.
According to Paul Bissonnette and the crew of the Spittin' Chiclets Podcast, Babcock is not making friends in Columbus. Biz went onto share the following.
I get a text from a player and he goes, have you heard what Babcock is up to again? And I'm like 'no'. So he gets to Columbus and one of the first things he does is he calls in Boone Jenner, the captain of the f***ing team and he says 'let me see the photos in your phone. I want to know the type of person you are.' Biz would then go on to grill Babcock actions while informing the coach of what he should be worried about. It seems more than likely that this old dog hasn't learned new tricks.
