Multiple NHL teams taking a ridiculous stance against Russia
The NHL Draft is scheduled for July and the Montreal Canadiens hold this year's 1st overall pick. There have been many questions that surround this year's draft, but the most common one is about the involvement of Russian players. Many North American leagues, including the CHL have banned Russian players from their upcoming draft due to the conflict in Ukraine.
Apparently some NHL teams are taking a unique stance of their own on the matter:
According to @sportexpress reporter Ivan Bogun, #GoHabsGo and #BringItToBroad have decided against picking Russian players in the #2022NHLdraft.
This decision by 2 NHL teams is reportedly shared by more who haven't made the decision public. This move likely will add a unique dynamic to this year's draft as a team willing to draft Russian players could significantly improve their prospect pool by focusing on the passed over talent.
This just seems like another ridiculous move to appease the masses by punishing those uninvolved.
