NHL Department of Player Safety issues major suspension after kneeing incident

Yesterday the NHL Department of Player Safety announced the first hearing of the 2023/24 Season. The league made the following announcement via their Twitter account today.

Los Angeles' Arthur Kaliyev will have a hearing today for Kneeing Anaheim's Chase De Leo.

The incident occured in the second period of Tuesday night's game. On the play Kaliyev was issued a 2 minute penalty for kneeing, but he was not ejected.

Today the Department of Player Safety announced the first suspension of the year and it is a lengthy one. Totaling 4 games over the preseason and regular season.

Los Angeles' Arthur Kaliyev has been suspended for two preseason games and two regular season games for Kneeing Anaheim's Chase De Leo.
