In the dying seconds of Friday night's game between the Columbus Blue Jackets and Calgary Flames, veteran defender Rasmus Andersson threw a questionable hit in Patrik Laine. The hit saw Andersson receive a major penalty and ultimately led to Laine being placed in injured reserve.

Saturday it was announced that Andersson would have a hearing for charging in the play. Hours later the NHL Department of Player Safety announced they'd suspended Andersson for 4 games for his hit.

Calgary's Rasmus Andersson has been suspended for four games for Charging Columbus' Patrik Laine.

Shortly after the decision was made news began to surface that the Flames and Andersson were considering appealing the suspension. Due to its length Andersson was not entitled to have his hearing heard by an arbitrator, instead his hearing would only be heard by NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman. That hearing was reportedly conducted Monday afternoon.

After hours of deliberations, Gary Bettman has finally reached his decision announcing that he was upholding Andersson's suspension.

With this decision leaves just one question, did the league get it right?
