NHL reportedly reaches decision on whether they'll void the Evgeni Dadonov trade
Despite the Vegas Golden Knights best attempt to avoid responsibility for their actions it appears the NHL has decided that the Knights WILL NOT be able to complete the Evgeni Dadonov trade. The Knights were hoping to shed salary to try to get some reinforcements in their lineup for a late season playoff push, but in the process the forgot about Dadonov's no trade list, which he'd legally filed.
The following information was shared by Jesse Grange of The Athletic:
I've had two sources tell me this morning they believe the Evgenii Dadonov trade to Anaheim will likely be voided.
Nothing official, just what I'm hearing. Apparently Dadonov filed his NTC with Ottawa on June 30 (prior to July 1 deadline) & VGK never received it from Ottawa.
It will be interesting to see how Vegas navigates this situation, because they're desperate to find a way to activate Mark Stone from Injured Reserve in hopes of making the playoffs.
