Unfortunately for the Senators they lost a key player, forward Josh Norris. He left halfway though the third period and did not return.
Norris lined up to take a defensive zone face-off against Travis Boyd. After taking the draw, Norris awkwardly fell to the ice and stayed down for a few moments before skating to the bench. Immediately the linesman could tell something was wrong. It appeared he injured his shoulder. As he walked down the hall, Norris threw his stick in frustration. What is concerning about this is he had trouble with shoulder injury last season.
The Senators said he would be evaluated by the medical staff and did not provide any further detail. Norris is a big part of Ottawa's top nine forward group. The Senators do have very good depth up front and can battle on without Norris. However they'd miss Norris services if he is out long-term.
The Senators organization and their fans hope it is not serious and he does not require any type of surgery. In five games this year Norris has one goal and one assist.
