The Carolina Hurricanes and and defensemen Ethan Bear appear to be headed towards an ugly breakup. The Hurricanes have struggled to find a spot in their lineup for him and it appears that he may be on his way out.
According to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet, the Canes will likely move Bear within the next few weeks. Carolina doesn't want to retain salary and bear wants to play. Meaning he could be moved via trade or waivers if a potential trade is a non-starter
Bear,25, has not gotten into a game with the Canes this season. However in 190 career NHL games spit between the Edmonton Oilers and Carolina Hurricanes, he's tallied 13 goals and 34 assists for a total of 47 points.
Hopefully the two sides are able to come to a deal and Beat can go somewhere where he will actually get playing time.
