The Pittsburgh Penguins have acquired Rickard Rakell from the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for Zach Aston-Reese, Dominik Simon, a prospect and a 2nd round pick.

The 28-year-old Winger Rakell has 16 goals and 28 points in 51 games this season. He is a UFA this summer with a cap hit of $3,789,444. He will be a major addition for the Penguins top 6.

He has been playing with the Ducks for his entire 10-year career. He had a good playoff run for them in the 16-17 season scoring 7 goals and 13 points in 15 games. The Ducks were swept the next year in 4 games by the San Jose Sharks. The Ducks haven't been to the playoffs since so Rakell will be hungry to perform.

Zach Aston-Reese has 2 goals and 11 points in 52 games with a cap hit of $1,725,000. Dominik Simon has 3 goals and 9 points in 55 games with a cap hit of $750,000. Both depth players are UFAs this summer.
