Player suffers awful injury after he's cut by a skate, photo shows just how bad
Stop me if you've heard this too many times this season. Another player has suffered what could easily be considered one of the worst injuries of this season. Yesterday Konstantin Komarek, who plays in the SHL became the most recent victim to suffer a cut due to a skate.
Similar to Evander Kane earlier this season it appears that Komarek has suffered a severed wrist tendon, something that was caught on camera. The incident occured as Komarek was fighting for position with Martin Lundberg. During the exchange Lundberg's skate comes up and catches Komarek's wrist.
On the play Komarek was called for interference, but as he heads to the box he realizes something is wrong and immediately heads to the bench.
The damage is shown off in this picture and we must warn you it is quite graphic.
According to AftonBladet, Komarek somehow was not taken to hospital and was treated at the arena.
A tendon has gone in his hand, so he is gone. He will recover, but he is away for a while," said Thomas Berglund of C More.
It is expected Komarek will make a full recovery.
