Last night the Carolina Hurricanes met the Boston Bruins for game two of their Eastern Conference Quarter Finals series and just 8-minutes into the first period when Boston Bruins' forward David Pastrnak ran into Hurricanes' goaltender Antti Raanta. Unfortunately for the Hurricanes who are already missing their starting goaltender Freddy Andersen, Antti Raanta was forced to leave the game with injury.

Pastrnak was given a 2-minute penalty on the play for goalie interference. After the game Hurricanes Head Coach, Rod Brind'Amour was fired up due to another resounding win.

Speaking after the game, Brind'Amour was asked if he thought the Bruins were «deliberately trying to target his goalies,» and this was his response:

Well, what do you think? Can't get anymore obvious Pastrnak didn't have anyone around him.

Brind'Amour was then asked on the status of goaltender Antti Raanta to which Brind'Amour would say,

I'm honestly not sure of Antti Raanta right now it didn't look good, but I can say, he didn't come back. That isn't a good sign. But he was in good spirits after the game. I think tomorrow will tell.

Bruce Cassidy dismissed any suggestion that Pastrnak, who has no reputation for cheap hits, would target the Antti Raanta:

It's David Pastrnak. Come on, You think he's gonna run we're on the power play. He's trying to chase down a puck. You think his intention is to that's why they changed it from a 5 major to a 2 minor. His foot caught his pad. He's trying to block the clear and get out of the way.
