Ryan Reaves sat down to open up about his health and lack of playing time and how much time he has left.
The Toronto Maple Leafs signed enforcer Ryan Reaves to a 3 year contract during free agency this past off season. The consensus among fans and media alike was that Toronto went out and finally added a little bit of toughness, but they overpaid to do it. Combine that with the fact that at the beginning of the season he was already 36, there was an undertone of worry, along with the cautious optimism. Unfortunately things have not gone well for Reaves in Toronto
Now, Reaves hasn't played since he hurt his knee in a game on December 14th, but contrary to belief, he's had trouble with his knees for some time and in a sit down interview with Sportsnet says he's ready to play again, but there's some concern for his health; take a look.
Reaves admits that while he's ready to go and healthy, he cannot skate or basically function without wearing knee braces to keep them in place because they're rather loose'
At this point, Reaves has been out of the lineup for over a month, most of that time he's been healthy enough to play, but at what point does he think about hanging them up? I'd imagine that decision would come sooner than later.
