Seattle Kraken reveal their trade deadline strategy
The Seattle Kraken have been one of the biggest surprises of the season. They are currently first in the Pacific division. Many would think it would be a smart play to reward the team by going after some big moves at the deadline. According to reports from Chris Johnston, Seattle won't deviate off their long-term vision or give up futures, but could make 1-2 depth moves.
When looking at the depth chart it doesn't jump off the page with stars but the offence can produce enough goals, (177) second in the Pacific division in this statistic behind Edmonton. The goaltending has been inconsistent with Martin Jones surprisingly surpassing Philipp Grubauer on the depth chart this season. Both netminders have save percentages below .900 but Jones has been able to get wins with a record of 23-7-3 compared to Grubauer's 5-8-2.
After being highly criticized for their expansion draft strategy, general manager Ron Francis has his team in a really good position for the future with some talented young players in Matty Beniers and Shane Wright who could become franchise changing players in Seattle.
