Tage Thompson ruled out of Allstar weekend, replacement announced
During a 5-1 loss over Carolina last night, Buffalo received even worse news learning that Tage Thompson left the game with an upper body injury and he did not return.
Now Thompson has withdrawn from the All Star Game this weekend to rest and recover from whatever is ailing him. As a result, his fellow teammate Rasmus Dahlin will represent Buffalo at All-Star Weekend in Florida.
Thompson is having another fantastic season for Buffalo and has developed into one of the league's premier players. It is sad to see him miss his first all-star appearance because he truly deserves to be there among the league's best players.
Let's hope Thomason's injury is not serious and he can quickly recover and help Buffalo compete for a playoff spot.
If you were going to pick another Sabre player to replace Thompson, Dahlin is the right choice. Like Thompson, Dahlin has establishing himself as one of the league's very good offensive players.
In just forty-nine games this season, Dahlin has already surpassed his best offensive output in the NHL. He has fourteen goals and forty-one assists for fifty-five points this year.
