As if the Tampa Bay Lightning aren't good enough already, the club will now get one of their best players back in the lineup for the Stanley Cup Finals against the Colorado Avalanche. According to Elliotte Friedman, Lightning coach Jon Cooper expects Brayden Point to return to the lineup for the final series of the year.
Point was injured in the first round series against Toronto, wherein 7 games, he tallied 2 goals and 4 points. In game 7, he suffered a lower body injury that's kept him out of the lineup until now.
That said, getting back their superstar centre will be a massive addition when facing another juggernaut in the Colorado Avalanche. It rarely happens, but this year, the two best teams will compete against each other for the Cup, and Point will be another contributor for the Lightning to turn the series in their favour.
As Jon Cooper said in the first round series against Toronto, the Lightning are knocking on the door of greatness with their opportunity to achieve the three-peat. Why shouldn't they barge right through that door?
