They gave up a bundle to get him, so it makes sense the Tampa Bay Lightning were keen on keeping forward Tanner Jeannot around. The Bolts have announced that the 26-year-old restricted free agent has signed on for another two years for a total of $5.33 million. That's an average annual value of $2.665 million.
Jeannot has made $800,000, just a smidge above the league minimum, for the past two seasons.
Tampa Bay picked up Jeannot at the trade deadline from the Nashville Predators in exchange for defenceman Cal Foote, and a package of five draft picks, including a 2025 first-round pick (lottery protected). Jeannot is a hard-nosed, physical player. He has, however, slipped considerably in his goal-scoring ability since the 2021-22 seasons with the Preds when he had 24 goals in 81 games.
