Penguins fans were happy at the end of the 1st. They were leading 3-2. Alex Ovechkin got his 44th of the season to tie the game in the second period. But unfortunately for Pens fans, "Trash" Tom Wilson went on to score the game winner, his 22nd of the season matching his career high. "Trash" also provided the primary assist on the empty net goal scored by Martin Fehervary. The final score was 6-3 win for the Capitals.
To Wilson's credit he is able to appreciate the passion fans show between the rivals when asked during the intermission.

The season series between the Penguins and Capitals has been going in Wilson's favor. The Capitals have won three and lost one versus the Pens this season. Wilson has contributed 2 goals and 3 assists in the four games.
When it comes to personal accolades, Wilson is having the best season of his career. He has 49 points in 67 games this season a career high. Was a replacement to the All Star game for the first time in his career. His GWG goal last night was his fifth of the year tying him for first on the team in that category with Ovechkin.
When Wilson first came into the league he was known mostly for his ability to get under the opponents skin. He has evolved into one of the top power forwards in the game. He is one of the driving engines helping the Caps play so well down the stretch.
