Top available college free agent signs with Eastern Conference team after refusing to sign with that Arizona Coyotes
When a team drafts a player in the NHL entry draft, it is done so with high hopes. That is exactly what the Arizona Coyotes had for John Farinacci when they selected him in the third round. However, Farinacci opted to go a different road.
Farinacci finished his time in the NCAA and opted to wait out his contract and become an unrestricted free agent. The choice to not sign with the Coyotes did not surprise many people. Today he inked a two-year deal to begin his NHL career.
The Boston Bruins made the following announcement via their Twitter page just moments ago.
The #NHLBruins have signed John Farinacci to a two-year entry-level deal contract.
Farinacci had the opportunity to sign with any team in the league but felt due to the lack of center depth. The Bruins gave him a serious chance at playing in the NHL in the very near future.
