Dadonov has a cap hit of $5 million, is probably another contract weighing heavy on Kelly McCrimmon's mind. That being said, McCrimmon failed to do his due diligence the last time he was traded to the Anaheim Ducks, which was voided by Dadonov's own NTC in his contract.
The Golden Knights' own incompetence was on display back in March, as CapFriendly.com was more a reliable source than the club itself, trying to deal with the player who is a net positive on ice, who put up 43 points with a +4.
Is this move smart? Is this clearing cap to sign their current RFAs and UFAs like Janmark and Smith? Maybe.
But the Vegas Golden Knights no longer are the loveable misfits from 2017, but cap hell losers.
