Video surfaces showing Canadian team dealing with worse attendance issues than the Arizona Coyotes
While it is just the preseason and not all fans are willing to shell out their hard earned money for tickets. At least one Canadian team appears to already have some attendance concerns. On Friday night the Ottawa Senators faced off against the Winnipeg Jets.
The preseason matchup was an opportunity for fans to see two Canadian teams renew hostilities that were developed in the North Division. Unfortunately while
the players may have been excited for the game, it appears local Ottawa residents didn't exactly feel the same way. 15 minutes before the opening face off a local fan posted the following video showing just how empty the arena was.
After being called out by a Senators fan for posting a picture before the game began, the user instead posted a second video. This video showed just how empty the arena was after play had begun.
With new ownership in Ottawa there was supposed to be a renewed excitement, however that currently doesn't appear to be the case. Maybe after years of hearing 'the rebuild is over' fans are finally waiting to see a competitive product on the ice. While the Arizona Coyotes college arena has become a running joke, it should be noted an empty 18,000 seat arena in Canada's Capital should be just as embarrassing.
