Zach Werenski is TKO'd by Jacob Middleton
Columbus Blue Jackets defenseman Zach Werenski was dealt a tough blow tonight, as it appears he suffered a significant injury. As Werenski fired the puck on goal, he received a body check from Minnesota Wild defenseman, Jacob Middleton.
It appears that the primary point of contact wad the chest, but either Middleton's shoulder of helmet appears to catch Werenski on the chin. Werenski was down on the ice for a couple minutes before being assisted off by teammates.
Middleton was not given a penalty on the play and Werenski is yet to return to the game. It is understood he is currently in concussion protocol.
